Abstract

This brief presentation of the evolution of the retail commercial geography in France focuses on the influences from Liège and the repeated contributions by Bernadette Mérenne-Schoumaker to a collective reflection, in particular within the Commission française de géographie du com­merce. The second part evokes the last changes and the evolution towards the commercial town planning.
