Abstract

 « Rural geography » requires a constant reflexion on the rural notion itself . Not only to discuss if rurality opposed to urbanity yet exists. But because the confrontation of the ideological and the real level of the two terras, following a methodology which is described in the paper, opens on a new approach of rural identities in Europe and their variation in time and space.
