Des ombres sur la figure du Monde

Christian GRATALOUP

Abstract

To see the World, we have to use a picture, a planisphere. However this figure is also a representation, a mental picture of the World. His origin goes back to the Europe of Middle Age, who used antique words and ideas. The notion of « Continent » has no more validity, but only historical meaning. The curious expression of Oceania, heritage of fabulous Antipodean Lands, is a witness of this use. So, how do to cut out the World ? A suggestion is did, as an geohistorical way to use the zonality.
