Abstract

Three models for the stacking of the heavy atoms, resulting from the Patterson synthesis 010, are discussed on the basis of the agreement, namely between calculated and observed odd-reflexions (h + k + l = 2n + 1) and on the basis of the results of the «difference-Patterson» between the two isomorphous complexes of platinum- and ;palladium tetracyanates.

The substructure of the heavy atoms is deduced and refined in the case of the palladium complex.

In the two columns wherein they are superposed two by two, the palladium atoms are separated by a mean distance of 3. 75 Å and form angles of 167° in a first column and 161°20' in the second one.
